Public Service
A state puts in place a government to implement its programs, policies and activities. The government is the formal structural system through which the state Plan is formulated, propagated and actualized. It may include public enterprises, diplomats, local authorities, the police, the army and the prisons.

Public Service therefore entails the process of promulgating, articulating and translating public policy or government decision into tangible outputs. IGI monitors the quality of such programs, efficacy of the processes involved, and the conduct and competence of the persons and agencies entrusted with such responsibility.
It is in the business of the IGI to ensure that as a decision leaves the door of the board room, rolling into a concept paper, and as it is ratified, ready to be converted into a final product or service for public consumption, the IGI steps in to detect and deflect all threats to public interest and the greater good of society.
